‘Approval Process Handbook’ 2022-23 released by AICTE on Tuesday March 29, laid out the mandatory subjects for UG admissions.
According to the Handbook, at least 16 out of 29 engineering and technology degree courses require Math and Physics mandatory at 10+2 level.
This is a major revision in the guidelines last year. As a step towards more interdisciplinary learning AICTE had made Math and Physics optional for any engineering or technology courses. Colleges and Institutes could individually decide on the mandatory subjects.
