‘HackNYU’ is a global virtual Hackathon that focuses on building solutions that impact diverse communities.
The hackathon hosts multiple tracks that cater to different socially relevant subjects. With their project ‘Ministore’ Shreevardhan Shah and Saumya Choudhary won the The Financial Empowerment track this year.
The ‘Ministore’ app empowers small business owners to create Amazon-like e-commerce websites within minutes. With no technical knowledge and limited budget, business owners can create their online stores with payment integration.

Such contests are a great learning experience for young students as they challenge them to work under constraints and also connect them to peers who share their interests.
