Pandemic hit and the internet became a life line more than ever before. But in remote areas such as Ladakh; stable, fast, safe and cheap internet is not an easy find. In order to support education at The Students’ Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL), Ahmedabad-based Nav Wireless Technologies Pvt Ltd has set up what is called a Li-Fi network.
The innovative, environmentally friendly technology transfers data through light signals in contrast to radio signals used by Wi-Fi.
“Under the leadership of SECMOL founder and president Sonam Wangchuk, the company will team up for covering the entire Ladakh and connect the unconnected areas using LiFi technology”
