These are Nanoparticles! These ultrafine particles have a wide range of physical and chemical properties. A nanoparticle is typically defined as a particle of matter with a dimension of 1 to 100 nanometres (nm). Nanoparticles, among other things, have applications in the food sector.
Here is another development in the Nano-world by NIT-A. Andhra Pradesh National Institute of Technology Researchers working with other Institutes showed how the concept of nanotechnology can be utilised to manufacture food packaging materials that improve shelf-life, preserve quality, and retain the flavour and colour of packed food components.
